I've been in business since 2000. It's very rare that a check bounces (once before) but the unfortunate fact is that my bank (as do most) charge a fee for that. It would be unreasonable of a customer not to be charged the fee because they were the one who wrote a bad check.
Phillip's service rate was pre determined before we stepped foot on site. As for the water change that I did not do, we had a discussion on site and both decided why it would not be done and the the time allotted for that was used to perform other additional services that went above and beyond what a properly maintained aquarium would need. This was a one time job on a neglected aquarium. Additionally, Philip did not bring up the fact that he was unhappy with what he agreed to pay until 3 days after the job was complete, by text message.
I first had difficulty trying to schedule with them. I was told far off dates and then when I wanted to confirm they said they were too busy. Finally I tried again and got a date. I was given a price and what it would include, the biggest item being here water change. Well upon arrival and a good class scrubbing I was told they wouldn't be doing a water change. I asked about the pricing and was told the long drive from a place 20 minutes away doesn't justify a price change. I was shocked. I wrote a check and he was on his way. I was then notified by him three weeks later the check bounced. Apparently I wrote a check on an old check book, so to add insult to I know had to pay $35 more for a service I had already been ripped off on. As the final straw I discovered his glass cleaning job was only about 80%. I had to finish cleaning the final areas.
...That card was declined...and I was told that the charge had gone through and posted by him which was in fact, impossible.
Finally after much more trouble than this job was worth to me considering time spent chasing down money that was rightfully owed , I received payment via a different credit card and charged him the bank fee that was assessed to me for his bad check.
I would not recommend this person to anyone based on his deceptive business practice.

I'm thankful and fortunate to have a very large and satisfied client base and to be an an established business that does not need to do business with individuals like Philip In the future.

Best Aquarium maintenance and tank guy around. Joe setup this awesome 700 gallon acrylic tank for our new offices. I just told Joe what my idea was and he did everything from working with tank manufacturer and insert manufacturer. He also helped move and do all the plumbing for my 700 gallon reef tank. I was concerned that he would be able to take on (2) 700 gallon builds but he did awesome and i would not ever use anyone else.
Joe did a fantastic job setting up my 90 gal saltwater aquarium and takes care of all the maintenance. He does all the hard work and leaves the fun stuff to me!!
In regards to the scheduling complaint I was up front and honest with him about why it took so long to get an appointment as we are a very busy business. I went as far as to give him the name and number of my competitor as a referral thinking they may be able to help him sooner. I guess that backfired.
When I approached Philip about the bounced check he told me that that was impossible at which point I gave him photographic proof of the returned check. I understand that things happen and I was told to give him a call to take credit card information to rectify.
He is super helpful with any questions. He responds right away and is always enthusiastic. He has helped me stock the tank with healthy fish and invertebrates and we just started adding corals.
